Winter
Wildlife - A word about some of our friends
who live in the winter woods: Wildlife residents active during winter
days include deer, turkey, the huge, colorful pileated woodpecker,
red squirrel, grouse and, of course, the hardy, cheerful chickadee.
A moose is a possibility. If you are lucky you will spot a snowy
owl, but you are more likely to notice a barred owl staring back
at you during the warmer days in March. Night time is the right
time for coyote, rabbit, snowshoe hare, red fox, fisher, and even
bobcat. Look closely for their tracks, which tell last night's stories. |

Snowshoeing at Ole's blends adventure
with comfort. Adventure because Ole's snowshoe trails follow terrain
most skiers will never see. You are welcome to follow 30 miles of ski
trails through thick northern forest and across open, sweeping meadow.
Almost 10 miles of trails are left untouched for a backcountry experience
and six miles are for snowshoers only. Visit these trails and you can
expect to see views of the Green Mountains and Sugarbush, tumbling waterfalls,
abandoned sugarhouses and active beaver ponds.
Ole's
Offers Guided Snowshoe Tours tailored to your interest
and group size. We feature Tubb's made-
in-Vermont snowshoe
rentals and sales.

Dinersoar Deli - At the end of the trail is the "comfort part"
promised above. Heidi's Deli right at Ole's always has homemade soups,
sandwiches, hot chocolate, and snacks ready for you to enjoy as you
relax in our day lounge.
