Calling it a Season Today, Trails Closed to
March 25, 2026 With the strong sun and warmer temps yesterday the 2KM loop is ski-able but not enough so that I will call it open. With 97 days of skiing this season I am calling it as the end to another great season at Ole's Cross Country. Thanks to all the customers and people who support my work at Ole's. I appreciate you. Ski shop is now closed for the season. Reach out with questions or off season needs. Please Note that ALL of Ole's Trail System is closed to ALL off se

COATING OF SNOW, SUN IS SHINING
March 24, 2026 Day 97 today and the sun is shining over a beautiful new layer of snow. A little bit of snow overnight really helped to pretty up the trail once again. The inner loop (just shy of 2KM) was skiing nicely yesterday. All things considered. It is even better this morning. The loop is well covered this am with a few thin spots becoming more pronounced through out the day as things warm up. The strong March sunshine will soften the snow pack later for spring skii

Still Skiing on surprisingly nice skiing
Good Morning, Monday today but we had a fun weekend skiing around out here in the field. The truly hardy and devoted came up and made some laps. The inner loop is open today. It measures about 2KM. It is skiing surprisingly nice out there. I got a great ski in both days Sat and Sun and will be out there momentarily skiing around. I went around the and tilled up the thin snow crust this morning and believe it or not, produced a rather nice granular surface. Sure a bit of M
FRESH SNOW FALLING, 2KM LOOP OPEN
March 22, 2026 A little snow overnight. I would say a 1/2" has fallen if I was being generous. It is supposed to snow lightly all day supposedly with another inch or two of accumulations. Inside practice loop was skiing pretty nice yesterday with it getting thin by the end of the day. The fresh snow has helped and I will brush out the track occasionally to help keep the light snow in place. We are open today until at least 4PM, and will be doing ski laps all day. Day 95

Open with a little skiing today
About 3 inches of thick powder fell yesterday and gave the countryside a coating of snow. The scene is wintry once again. With the thick and pasty powder I have been able to put our loop out in the green grass of the airport meadow . For a distance of around 2KM of skiing. I may do a loop around #11 to see what I see. The airport field looks pretty good. Thin and a bit bumpy as once would expect, but I will be skiing the you know what out out of it. The temps are nice, the
Snowing. Open this weekend 10AM-4PM
Good afternoon, Seems Winter has not totally left us yet this season. Currently it is snowing out. There is anywhere from 1-4 inches forecast for our area for today/tonight and another better chance for Sunday and Monday although the forecast is quite unclear. We shall see if it is enough to get some trail open once again. I will assess late today or in the morning to see what I see. Regardless we will hold some ski shop hours this weekend from 10AM-5PM for leased gear ret
Closed this weekend.Open Next weekend.
March 14, 2026 A little bit of fresh snow on the airport grass but not the shot of powder we need. Ski shop currently closed and we are moving towards breaking this place down for the season. Ski shop will be open next weekend for shop services and gear lease returns. Reach out if you have a need and or a question as I am still around almost daily. If we get a decent shot of snow in the next few weeks maybe we can get a little more skiing this season. Enjoy your weekend
A little too nice out.
March 10, 2026 It is nice out........, A little bit too nice out there. Yesterday, for the bulk of the day skiing was doable. Even great on sections. Grass hopping on others. I managed to pull off about 10 MI. of skiing. But alas, the sustained warm temps have melted things and we do not have enough snow up here to call it open. Spring, if not moved into the house at the moment, is knocking loudly. A high of 70 today? Yeesh. We will need a big weather shift and a dec
Still some snow up here.
March 09, 2026 Another mild start to the morning. The snow pack mostly refroze over night with the light breeze and cooling temps. As one could expect the melting continued through the day yesterday. The warmth around 3PM and on actually softened the ice/slush and made it more ski able . I banged around with the big groomer on #2,#1,#11 this morning and combed it out where possible. Some skiing to be had for sure. Expect gaps in the trail, bare/thin spots, icy/s
Warm Winds From the South
March 08, 2026 Amazing what can happen overnight. The wind howled and continues to howl from the south. We took a real big hit out there last night. While there is still some coverage out there, trails are fragmented by open water slush spots and thin spots that are getting bigger and bigger. With temps in the 50's to 60's over the next several days and some rain on Wed. It doesn't look to improve for the short term. That being said, I took Lil' baby Ginzu groomer
