Still good coverage Spring Skiing later today

February 11, 2024

Good Morning,

Another day of skiing is in store once again today. Coverage mostly remains good. The snowpack did thin some yesterday. It also did re-freeze this morning so the best skiing will be a little later in the day once trails have a chance to thaw out again. The snow in the woods is dirty and a little thin in the pine sections of trails #5 through the woods and #'s 8/12. All of the hardwood sections of trail #5 are still pretty nice. It IS possible to make that loop but not recommended for your $600 racing ski. The fields are holding on mostly strong with only a few spring type/funky spots that are short and are fairly easy to negotiate through. Trails #6,#9 and # 10 ("The Outer Loop") are closed and will need some more snow to be open. Hopefully soon! Trail # 4 is getting soft on the North and Eastern Sides. Stop in for more details.

The Sking yesterday was great all day even with the warm temperatures. The snowpack is so consolidated it remained pretty firm all day. Always fun to ski around in summer clothing. I plan on setting some track on select trails out there and maybe combing out some close in skate lanes once things have softened up a touch. Regardless, later today should be yet another great day for gliding. See you up here.

Please Note: Warm temps have put Airport Road into mud season condition.

We recommend that visistors arrive via Coming up through Warren Village. From Warren Village head up Brook Road up the hill 2.5 MI and then turn left on onto Airport road at the Four Corners. Then in approx. 1 MI hard right onto Airport Road. After about a 1 MI of dirt road you will arrive at Ole's Cross Country on your right. The warm temps have put the road into Mud Season condition and it is not recommended to travel up Airport Road from RT 100 North 2.5 MI. North of Warren Village. The road from that direction is quite muddy. Airport Road arriving from the South Via the previously described route is in fairly good shape. See you up here!
