Another cold start to the day today with temps down around 10 below zero once again this morning. By around 1pm they are forecast to rise to a more reasonable ten above zero. Despite the cool weather yesterday, the skiing was really nice and a gang of hardy skiers came up and got their gliding in. Skiing the classic tracks last night before I went home was beautiful. Easy to get the wax to stick in -8 degree snow!
The biggest snowstorm in a quite few seasons is set to come in tonight and tomorrow. 13"-19" of snow in parts of Central VT. These type of storms can come in big. The forecast calls for little wind and cold temperatures through out the weather event and into the week ahead. The long range forecast looks
stellar. We are heading into a epic stretch of skiing here in VT.
Come up and enjoy the trails.

Beautiful out this morning. Nice and proper old school temps. 10 below zero as I write this report. A high of 1 or two degrees out today will surely ensure a chilly day but way better than 34 degrees and raining. It's winter, in January, during ski season. It's supposed to be cold!
When you come out and ski be sure to bundle up, wear face protection. Perhaps some goggles on your face will complete your ensemble and will help keep you warm. Ski in bursts, take a lap or two, come in warm up next to our toasty woods stove. Have a warm beverage and go out again. Nothing like Cross Country Skiing to generate your own heat and get yourself outside on a nice sunny winter day. Most trails are all being re-groomed for your skiing pleasure today. The should be done by around 9AM or 10AM.
The snow is really nice. A tour of the outer loop last night was beautiful despite a few rugged spots. Some hazards down there and it is for experts only. I'll be hitting it up later today. Check in with trail questions. See you all up here. Stay warm today. Ski safe and smart.

Good Morning,
It snowed and blew up here rather ferociously yesterday, filling in the trails and adding to the ever growing snow pack. Trails are in great shape and I did the rounds grooming this morning, freshening up what we have been skiing on and adding the outer loop with one pass of the big groomer.
The outer loop trails #6,#9 and #10 are beautiful in spots thin in spots and rather sketchy in spots. Some of those sketchy spots are short but may be best traversed by taking your skis off and walking. Check in for a detailed report of that trail and see the detailed conditions report below for cautions. Ski safe!
All of the other open trails are skiing beautifully and were fresh groomed this morning with a fresh classic track set. At the moment the winds are mellow. Come up and ski!
