An inch of fresh snow overnight has turned the skiing back from spring to winter for this morning's gliding. Good to have some cold temps and dry snow on the snow pack again. Trails are looking good and we had a great weekend with crowds of people coming up to take advantage of this snow pack that endures.
Open terrain will be re groomed fresh once again. Yesterday's skiers ruts that have frozen, will be combed out from skate lanes this morning. There is a nice classic track with powder in it from yesterday. It will be best skied in by my dependable skiing minions. It should provide a nice classic ski with a cold snow experience.
Temps climbing into the lower thirties, good to great coverage on the trails, and skies forecast to be mostly sunny will produce yet another great ski day at Ole's XC.
Come and enjoy.

Good Morning,
Overnight we got a nice coating of precipitation to help cover up the trails. None of that nice, white fresh clean powder that you might find in a Norman Rockwell painting or on a Christmas picture postcard from Nana.....Right along with your $10. What fell was some good old classic New England Sleet snow.
While more is always better, the inch that did fall made a HUGE difference in ski surface quality. The ice that was present softened with the rain that preceded the sleet. Then with that nice layer of frozen precipitation on top, things have really improved overnight. Skiing should be great and spring like.
I am out grooming the trails and we will have about 20KM groomed and classic tracked up for you by around 10AM. I will update this with a detailed report when grooming is completed. The temps will rise well into the thirties today and it's gonna be a good day. Come up and get your glide on. See you up here.

Good Morning,
A good shot of rain and a warm strong wind overnight has consolidated the snow pack. While we did take a hit, the base largely remains intact. I went around and combed some skate lanes and it has tilled up pretty nicely. There is going to be an occasional icy/thin spot out there but the skiing should be good after the sun has had a chance to soften things.
Around Trails #2, #11, #3 has good to excellent coverage. #5 along East Warren Road is ski-able but will be a bit of an adventure with some ice and some thin spots. Once out to the big hill on #5 in the hay field, up to #7 and out to #4 still has good to great coverage once you get out there. Trail #1 also is looking pretty good mostly. Still thin in the pine tree woods sections. Also watch out for bumps in the meadow sections.
Can't beat the view from up there. In general keep your eyes open and speed down today.
The temps today will rise well above freezing so once the sun can have a chance to work it's magic then we should see some spring like skiing.
It is going to be a nice day out there. And skiing in comfy temps is never a bad thing. Skiing will be best from about 10 AM on I would think.
Hoping to get some fresh snow tonight through tomorrow, which will help improve conditions.
