Good Morning,
A good shot of rain and a warm strong wind overnight has consolidated the snow pack. While we did take a hit, the base largely remains intact. I went around and combed some skate lanes and it has tilled up pretty nicely. There is going to be an occasional icy/thin spot out there but the skiing should be good after the sun has had a chance to soften things.
Around Trails #2, #11, #3 has good to excellent coverage. #5 along East Warren Road is ski-able but will be a bit of an adventure with some ice and some thin spots. Once out to the big hill on #5 in the hay field, up to #7 and out to #4 still has good to great coverage once you get out there. Trail #1 also is looking pretty good mostly. Still thin in the pine tree woods sections. Also watch out for bumps in the meadow sections.
Can't beat the view from up there. In general keep your eyes open and speed down today.
The temps today will rise well above freezing so once the sun can have a chance to work it's magic then we should see some spring like skiing.
It is going to be a nice day out there. And skiing in comfy temps is never a bad thing. Skiing will be best from about 10 AM on I would think.
Hoping to get some fresh snow tonight through tomorrow, which will help improve conditions.

An absolutely beautiful morning after a very successful race yesterday afternoon/evening. We had over 70 skiers from 5 different schools grace Ole's race loop with their very impressive skiing skills.
We could not have picked a better day. The sun was out, temps were warm. A stark contrast to last years cold temps and very blustery conditions.
With temps in the 30's I anticipated the snow pack becoming soft and mushy but it did not. The snow surface remained firm but softened nicely on top and was full of some serious glide. Skiers were ripping around the course and it sure was a pleasure to see.
Thanks for all the competitors and the coaches for coming up. We look forward to having you all up here again.
Trails are in great shape out there. Temps will be comfy again today. Some rain tonight to endure but the forecast for the weekend shows snow!
This is proving to be yet another great winter here at Ole's XC. I hope everyone can come up and utilize these wonderful trails that the legend Ole mapped out over 55 years ago.
See you all up here.
Gonna be a great weekend.......Again!

Balmy temps today. Nice out! Sure is nice to keep it cold but you can not complain too much about cozy t shirt weather skiing. The snow is full of glide and groomed trails are skiing great.
We are looking to get another thaw over the next few days but the forecast is trending not as catastrophic as it was a few days ago. So think positive and think snow! See you up here today.
Harwood Union High School will host a 2.5KM race here at 3PM. Come up, watch and cheer on all the youth skiers while they glide their little hearts out. Trails will be open for skiing during the race and will not affect any day visitors.
Skiing is really nice so come up and get your glide on.
